Most people come in for one garment and order another later. The full card costs $20 more once and never needs doing again.

These are exact prices, not estimates and not “& up.” Everything else we do is quoted once we see the garment. Alterations pricing is on the price menu.

Why a costume house

Measured the way production measures.

A wardrobe department can't afford a remake, so its numbers have to be right the first time. Your appointment gets the same tape and the same discipline.

How it works

How a measurement appointment works

  1. Book an appointmentMeasurements are by appointment only, never walk-in. Nobody is waiting behind you, so every number is taken without hurrying. That's what keeps it accurate.
  2. Wear close-fitting clothesLeggings and a fitted top are ideal. Bulky layers add inches that aren't you. If your maker sent a chart, bring it printed or on your phone.
  3. Leave with the finished cardYou walk out with your completed card, or your maker's chart filled in, ready to send the same day.

Questions

Measurement questions

Do you take measurements if I'm not buying anything from you?

Yes. Measurement is a service on its own. Most people who book it are having the garment made somewhere else, and that's exactly what it's for.

I have a chart from the company making my outfit — can you fill it out?

Yes. Bring it printed or on your phone and we'll take every measurement it asks for, the way it asks for it. That's the $30 requested-measurements appointment. If you'd also like a complete card to keep, book the $50 full card instead.

What's the difference between the $50 full card and the $30 requested measurements?

The $50 full card takes every measurement on our card, 52 for men and 44 for women, and you keep it for anything you order later. The $30 option takes only the measurements on the chart you bring, and you leave with that chart filled out. Both are exact prices.

How long does it take?

About 30 minutes for the full card. Requested measurements take 15 to 20 minutes, depending on how many your chart lists.

What should I wear?

Close-fitting clothing. Leggings and a fitted top are ideal. Loose or bulky layers add inches that end up in the garment. If the outfit will be worn with particular shoes or undergarments, wear or bring them.

Do you measure for Indian and South Asian outfits like lehengas and sherwanis?

Yes. Lehengas, sherwanis, saree blouses and other South Asian outfits ordered from overseas usually come with a detailed chart from the maker. Bring it and we'll fill out every line.

Can you measure children?

Yes, with a parent or guardian present for the whole appointment.

Do you do cosplay and costume commissions?

Yes. Bring the measurement sheet your maker sent. If you commission regularly, the full card gives you one complete set to send to every maker.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes. Measurements are by appointment only, never walk-in, so the session is never rushed.

Can you give measurements in centimetres?

Yes. We measure in inches or centimetres, whichever your maker's chart uses.

Ready to book?

Fittings are by appointment. Book online and we'll confirm the detail when we see the garment.
